Willem and Wardt or shall I say W&W have made a name for themselves with their electro anthems and their unmistakable big room sound. They are one of the very few producers who do big room right. Some may even forget their trance roots when their journey began back in 2007; I guess you could say these two are some of the most versatile producers in the game.
After throwing down a bone-rattling set at the main stage of TomorrowWorld, we were able to chat with the duo and it seems like these two have a lot in store for their fans with the amount of new music their sitting on. W&W will continue to impress and look to close out 2014 strong, be sure to keep a close on this dynamic Dutch duo.

TSS: You guys were here last year for the first ever TomorrowWorld, how does it feel to be back?
Willem: It feels great!
Wardt: I think this year was bigger than last year so we really had a great time.
TSS: How does TomorrowWorld compare to other festivals around the world?
Willem: TomorrowWorld is very unique. The venue, the vibes, the set up here at the Artist Village, the unique stage designs and the massive main stage. I also love the production, it’s crazy!
Wardt: They spend a lot of time selecting the venue because it’s pretty much in the middle of no where, but it’s definitely traveling far for.
TSS: The Netherlands produces some of the biggest DJ/producers; what’s the secret? I’m starting to think there’s something in the water.
Willem: I think it’s because we’ve had big DJs as role models. Armin van Buuren and Ferry Corsten made it really big when we were younger and since they were Dutch I felt we had a chance. Electronic dance music had been on the radio over there for over a decade.
Wardt: It’s culturally accepted by the Dutch people. The government has always supported big festivals and they have been taking place since around 1998, I think that’s why we’re so far ahead compared to the rest of the world.
TSS: Speaking of Dutch, you recently released your second collab with Hardwell, “The Dance Floor Is Yours”. What’s it like working with him?
Willem: Was that our second?
Wardt: We’ve done so many tracks together, we don’t even know which one is which.
Willem: That track was actually made more than a year ago. It was just laying there, we both played it and just decided to give it away because it didn’t fit our release schedules.
TSS: Now you guys are known for your Electro anthems and your Trance roots, how did your collaboration with Headhunterz come about since he is a Hardstyle producer?
Willem: headhunterz is one of our favorite producers and we finally met about a year ago. We were always talking and we were finally just like “Why don’t we try something together?” Then he came over to our place and we made “Shocker” and our next single “We Control The Sound” which we played today.
TSS: “Shocker” was released on your label Mainstage music, is there anything specific you look for when signing a track?
Willem: It should be a track that we like and shout be a track that we think is unique. We go through so many demo looking for tracks that are different yet still work.
Wardt: It has to have some type of unique spark to it.
TSS: W&W has played at some of the biggest venues across the world, do you guys still get any pre-set nerves?
Willem: It’s weird but only when it’s a small intimate crowd then I feel nervous.
Wardt: People are standing right in front of you all sweaty and they’re so close to you, it’s awkward.
TSS: What is your favorite venue here in the United States?
Wardt: I really like the Gorge Amphitheatre in Seattle. It was up like a mountain, that was really different.
Willem: Anywhere in the United States right now is really good for us!
TSS: Lastly, what does W&W have in store for their fans next?
Willem: “We Control The Sound” that was our main collab, “Shocker” was a warning for what is to come. We also have a single with Hardwell and Fatman Scoop called “Don’t Stop The Madness” coming soon.
Wardt: When we head home tomorrow, we have studio time so we’re going to finish up about 5 or 6 tracks this week.
