Bro Safari & UFO! – Burn The Block

In anticipation of their forthcoming collaboration album “Animal” dropping everywhere for free this Wednesday, UFO! and Bro Safari have decided to give away one of the tracks titled “Burn The Block” for free today. “Burn The Block” is the sixth track out of ten on the album and features some of Bro Safari & UFO!’s hard-hitting hip-hop infused trap goodness full of menacing lyric samples and hard-hitting 808 drums. [BRAND NEW] NERVO – Hold On (R3hab & Silvio Ecomo Remix)

DJ R3hab just released his and Silvio Ecomo’s remix of Nervo’s Hold On. Fadil El Ghoul, better known as R3hab, is a dutch DJ who is credited with being one of the main influences of the “dutch house” genre. I think R3hab has a darker sound to him, more comparative to early psytrance. Either way, R3hab always delivers time after time. Silvio Ecomo, for those who are unaware, is also a Dutch DJ and producer who entered the EDM world ten years ago. Mashing together tribal and trance rhythms, his sound is very unique and has been supported by world renowned artists such as Axwell, and Chuckie. The blond bombshell twins from the land down under put out a spectacular track, Hold On, that has been remixed now by quite a few people. Listen below to hear how R3hab and Silvio Ecomo pulled it off. The build up immediately makes you start nodding along and it drops into an absolute headbanger. The breakdown is perfectly executed and Nervo’s beautiful lyrics enter along with progressive synth leads. The track is a awesome mix of beauty and bass. Im quite a fan of this track!

Headhunterz & Krewella – ID

So, I’m sure we all know who Krewella is by now… trio from Chicago who get people extremely wet and take sets to a whole new level playing all sorts of music that ranges from Progressive House to Dubstep to trap and now recently Hardstyle just within each set? If you don’t know who they are… educate yourself and you will most likely fall in love. Anyways, they have been known for doing all sorts of music that ranges from all different styles of EDM and do not settle with one genre which we love about them as they tend to experiment and do it all. Many have noticed a higher use of hard dance within their sets recently which many seem to love and now seem to have gone to a whole new level of experimenting by making a Hardstyle track with none other than the #1 Hardstyle DJ in the world, Headhunterz. Willem (Headhunterz) this past weekend played EDC NY, where he had the closing set at the Circuit Grounds after Steve Angello and played some new productions in that set which included what seems to be a collaboration with Krewella. As of right now there is no official title for the track but we are going to assume it may be something along the lines of “We Are” or “Say We Are’ as that is the main hook of the track. We think this is a interesting play and collaboration between Krewella and Headhunterz as it’s putting 2 acts that are known for completely different things together and making something new. We think the track is banging and can’t wait for a official release! We left you guys a video below of Headhunterz playing it at EDC NY, let us know what you guys think!

Hardwell & Dyro feat. Bright Lights – Never Say Goodbye

Damn we just keep it coming today. It seems as though these days Hardwell can’t do anything wrong. He dominated Ultra a few months ago, dropped a few amazing original collaborations, released a remix EP of Apollo, remixed Krewella’s Alive beautifully and now gives us Never Say Goodbye with Dyro and Bright Lights! This man is putting in a ton of hard work and it’s paying off. If you recall, Hardwell briefly brought out Dyro on the main stage of Ultra Weekend 1 this year to unveil the track. You should also remember Bright Lights from I Dare You by Savoy. Well, the combination of the three musical talents have created an overall incredible track. Miguel Takes Out Fans With ‘Billboard Music Awards’ Stage Jump

Miguel’s leap over the audience during his live performance at the Billboard Music Awards at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas last night was probably the most exciting moment of the event, unless you were the fan he landed on.

If you missed the big leap, you can check out the GIF below to see it in action. As he jumped from stage to stage over the audience, Miguel’s right leg hooked a female fan around the neck and brought her down hard, pinning her against the stage underneath his body.

It looks like she was not the only victim of the stage jump, as the bottom of Miguel’s left foot kicks another female fan right in the side of her face as he comes down. Ouch!

Since the leap, dozens of memes have been popping up making light of the situation. Luckily the fan is alright and let everyone know via Twitter.

After last night’s performance, one thing is for sure.. Miguel has gone viral.

Skrillex, Baauer & David Guetta Win At Billboard Music Awards

Last night in Las Vegas, the MGM Grand hosted the Billboard Music Awards and for the first time ever, several electronic dance music award categories were introduced.

With no surprise, Skrillex took the award for Top EDM Album with his chart-topping Bangarang EP.

Baauer ended up taking both “Top Dance Song” and “Top EDM Song” for producing his viral-video phenomenon “Harlem Shake” which remained in the iTunes Top 10 for weeks upon weeks.

Last but not least, David Guetta was crowned “Top EDM Artist” by Billboard, taking the gold for the highest EDM award presented at the show. Accepting the award, David Guetta had some surprised words for EDM’s skyrocketing popularity:

“When they put me on the cover four years ago and said EDM would be big, I thought ‘these guys are crazy – this will never happen’ Imagine how I feel today.”

KID LOSES HIS FINGER AT EDC NY 2013

Electric Daisy Carnival, the annual EDM festival held by Insomniac Events, attracts more than 300,000+ spectators every year. The New York branch of Electric Daisy Carnival just wrapped up it’s festival event’s this past weekend. The two day event was held Friday, May 17th and Saturday, May 18th. It’s been generating in the new’s that some kid somehow lost his finger sometime during the two day event held at Citi Field stadium, Flushings, NY. Probably not the type of news coverage Insomniac was hoping for. Watching this video made me queasy, the kid doesn’t even realize his finger is gone until the annoying girl starts screaming that his pinky is gone. His friend’s aren’t much of a help, I think they’re lost somewhere in a K-hole. Not really sure who’s to blame for this one though, the people who designed the structure he was climbing on, or the kid for being dumb enough to climb on it. What do you guy’s think?

REMIX CONTEST: Brenton Mattheus – Overcome (RESULTS)

Overcome was originally produced by Brenton Mattheus to prove to the world he could produce as well as he could sing. Obviously after achieving over 30,000+ plays on the original, Brenton and his management decided that a remix contest was in store. After two weeks of submissions and a week of judging we have finally chosen 1st and 2nd place. We also decided on two honorable mentions. It was a tough decision but first place goes to SirensCeol with his sensational melodic dubstep remix. Second place goes to Prince Fox. Prince Fox had a very different way of vocal editing that really blew us away. The honorable mentions were also difficult but we had to narrow it down to a couple. Not in any particular order the honorable mentions were Mikal Minhas’s Remix and MG’s Remix. Both were stellar productions but they stood out from the rest. For everyone else that entered we wanted to let you know that you all were outstanding and that TSS, Night Focus Management, and Brenton himself want to let you know that personally. Stay tuned for future remix contests coming from Brenton Mattheus because there will surely be others in the coming future!

Seven Lions – Fevers & EDC NY Interview

Where do we start? Seven Lions has been on a rampage recently as he’s been tearing across North America playing a lot of shows. This track ‘Fevers’ is being released for free in celebration of his first headlining show at Avalon in Hollywood, as well as playing EDC NY for the first time this past weekend. The track ‘Fevers’ itself is breathtaking and features Minnesota and Mimi Page who help to create the blissful sense of euphoria that Seven Lions is known and loved for. Seven Lions TSS Interview @ EDC NY

So first off your Seven Lions EP; I was absolutely blown away as a fan that was one of our favourite EPs of last year especially with all the music that came out. What can we expect from you this year? Anything along those lines?

Yeah I’m working on a new EP and I’m not sure how many tracks will be on it but definetley at least four. I have a single coming out next week actually and then a remix that I did for Röyksopp./blockquote>

So what was your inspiration behind these tracks on your EP? They were very euphoric and very uplifting.

I just like music that takes you on a journey, and that’s kind of my whole inspiration about music and stuff that takes you out of wherever you are and puts you somewhere else and that’s my main inspiration I guess. I listen to a lot of metal too so the heaviness, you know the power that comes through the music plus the melody.

I think that’s what a lot of fans are drawn to is the melody and that hard hitting sound as well.

Totally, music can be that much more powerful once you add melodic and emotional sounds.

So when you were growing up what did you listen to? Who was your favourite artist and what wanted to get you in to music?

I grew up listening to punk and eventually metal and when I listened to metal my whole love of music got to where it is now. Then I got into industrial for a little bit, and then trance eventually. Then I started making dubstep.

To be able to switch genres like that is impressive. Is that what we can expect to hear on the next EP? Like trance, dubstep stuff or are you going to branch out more?

Maybe a little bit of everything. My bigger tracks are the trance-dubstep stuff but I really like to make other things too. I’m planning on making some non-dancefloor tunes; stuff that’s just not meant to be danced too. I find that writing that way gives me so much more freedom and it’s so much more interesting to just sit down and work on a song and not have to worry about what people think so much.

I completely understand, as an artist you have to be able to branch out and do what you wanna do sometimes.
So give me a little bit of insight on your performance at Ultra, that was your first time playing there right? You had the whole OWSLA stage, all of OWSLA was there, how was that as an experience because as a fan that looked so cool.

It was awesome, my expectations for Ultra were kind of low because I don’t like super massive parties all the time and it seemed like it was going to be way too over the top but it was actually really cool. Everybody was really nice, I met a ton of artists that I’ve known and respected for a while, and just got to meet them and have a beer and chill.

I saw a picture of you and Dillon Francis and it looked like you two were having a great time.

Yeah it was crazy. It was really just cool to see everybody doing there thing and it was a humbling experience forsure.

So were you excited for the set, or a little nervous?

I was excited forsure, it was nice to be with all of the OWSLA team and play with them. It’s cool once you go somewhere and your team is behind you and they all have your back. It feels much better, and it’s a good feeling.

More about OWSLA, how did that come about?

One of my managers met Sonny at a rock festival in Germany and gave him my stuff and then they just got back to us and we just went from there.

If you could describe your life in one song what would it be?

I’d say Opeth – Benighted.

Finally, one question that we always ask from TSS, it’s more of an inside joke with us but would you rather fight 100 duck sized horses or one horse sized duck?

I’d say a hundred duck sized horses, cause then you could just hit them with a baseball bat.
