Empire of the Sun Release “Ask That God” Remix EP Ft. Solomun, Vintage Culture & More!

Empire of the Sun are taking their latest chapter, Ask That God, even further with a brand-new remix album out today. The six-track collection invites some of electronic music’s most respected names to reimagine songs from the duo’s critically praised fourth LP—offering fresh textures and club-ready interpretations that explore new ground without losing the heart of the originals.

Solomun kicks things off with a brooding rework of “Television,” building tension and depth while stretching the vocals over vintage synths and a pulsing, midnight rhythm. It’s a signature move from the techno heavyweight, who brings his usual mix of emotion and precision.

“Cherry Blossom,” a fan favorite, gets a powerful new version from Brazilian star Vintage Culture. His remix adds a layer of urgency with booming kick drums and shimmering synth lines, made to hit hard in festival settings. This is by far my favorite remix of the remixes.

Meanwhile, Adam Ten takes “Music On The Radio” in a different direction—stripping away the disco and replacing it with a lean, driving groove that’s more suited to a dark, packed warehouse.

LP Giobbi delivers one of the standout moments on the album with her remix of “Happy Like You.” She leans into the emotion of the original, adding dramatic builds and lush instrumentation that give the track new emotional weight while keeping it firmly planted on the dancefloor.

This remix album isn’t just a celebration of the original project—it’s a chance to hear Ask That God through the ears of some of today’s most innovative producers. Each track brings something different, expanding the sonic universe Empire of the Sun have created without losing the thread.

Following tours in Australia and Mexico, the band is bringing their high-energy live show to the U.S. starting April 23 at The Fillmore in Detroit. The tour promises to carry this new momentum into packed venues across the country. Tickets are on sale now.
