Swedish House Mafia’s “Ray of Solar” swept away crowds and listeners with its poignant orchestral production and soothing vocals combined with the trio’s signature house sound. The song garnered much support within the industry with producers chomping at the bits to put their own touch on it. One of those remixers is Mau P who was able to put his own signature touch on the song.
The remix largely holds the essence of the original song but he adds a sense of euphoria to it with melodic synths backing the drop. Thumping basslines are used throughout the backbone of the track while drum snares add to the overall production of the song. The vocals are largely untouched which is a good move as they are what makes the song what it is along with its instrumentation but the way he turned the drop into something you can close your eyes and was away into is what makes it his own.
