Last week Sam Lassner aka Prince Fox signed a major record deal with Casablanca / Republic Records. This is very full circle moment for him and when we were informed that his “Musings EP” would consist of Choppa Dunks, Thewz, and You&Me we knew we were in for a treat.
As many of you may not know Thewz was one of the first people that the Prince collaborated with when he was studying music at NYU. The EP consists of two singles and 3 remixes of one of those singles. The first single “Wait Until Tomorrow” released six months ago and was an instant hit. Following up that successful release we get a remix from Choppa Dunks, You & Me, and Nightowls. All incredible in their own way.
Choppa’s rendition is my personal favorite because it’s a car banger that you can roll up anywhere and turn heads. Word on the street is Donald Trump plans to make it his campaign theme song. You&Me and Nightowls both have some cool dynamic effects and the sound design mixed with flawless mixing made these easy choices for Sam. To save the best for last we have the new single “Heartbreak Darkside” ft. New York native Thewz. I am obsessed with this record as it’s a deeper, darker record that has light at the end of the tunnel feeling. Now that I talked your face off let’s put the stick in 1st gear and get this weekend started!
