If you follow the Colorado’s New Year’s Eve festival Decadence on social media, you may be aware that they’ve been slowly releasing their Denver lineup over the past two days. Having experienced this festival myself two years ago, I can confidently say that Denver is the place to be to ring in 2016, and now that we have the bulk of the lineup, it’s pretty much settled. Check it out below.
Dec 30th: Day 1
Bassnectar | Gramatik | Jack U
Dabin | Figure | The Floozies | Galantis | Hot Since 82 | JackLNDN | Salva | UZ | What So Not
Dec 31st : Day 2
Deadmau5 | Excision | Hardwell | Odesza
Black Tiger Sex Machine | Jai Wolf | Matthew Koma | Son of Kick
Yeah. I’m salivating too. Tickets will go on sale Friday, October 2nd on their website. With artists like Bassnectar and Excision to satisfy the bass head in all of us counterposed by softer artists like Matthew Koma and Odesza, it’s safe to say that there’s something for everyone.
I also want to take a moment to highlight to particular artists – Black Tiger Sex Machine and Dabin. Both of these guys are from Kannibalen Records in Montreal, and TSS has been following their development over the last couple of years, which has been pretty incredible. Check out the collab track they dropped yesterday below to get a feel for their style. Black Tiger Sex Machine are electro carnage incarnate, and put on an absolutely incredible show, with live keyboard and drum trigger performance, not to mention ridiculously awesome tiger helmets that are one part Daft Punk, one part futuristic biker gang, and three parts intensity. Dabin is on the chiller end of the spectrum, at least by Kannibalen standards, and infuses every track he makes with a delicate sense of emotion that few producers can rival.
“We’re super excited for the show,” says Marc of Black Tiger Sex Machine about Decadence. “It’s a huge milestone for us as well. We played our first US show in January 2015…I couldn’t think of a better way to cap off such a year than with Decadence.”
