As one of the most anticipated New Year’s Eve festivals in the country, Decadence Arizona once again transformed Phoenix Raceway into a sprawling, genre-blending playground for electronic music fans looking to close out 2025 in unforgettable fashion. With massive production brought to you by Relentless Beats, immersive stage design that the festival goers have gotten used to, and a lineup that spanned melodic nostalgia (Adventure Club throwback set), underground techno, house grooves, and heavy bass, the festival delivered an unforgettable two-night experience. Decadence proved why it remains a cornerstone of the end-of-year festival circuit.
Day one of Decadence Arizona 2025 for me focused primarily on the house and techno sets but there were some other artists across genres I couldn’t miss out on. One of those being Adventure Club and their throwback set. The duo set the tone at the Grand Palace mainstage with a throwback-heavy performance that tapped straight into early-2010s melodic dubstep, sparking massive sing-alongs and emotional highs that felt tailor-made for longtime fans. On the opposite end of the spectrum, Sara Landry plunged the crowd into a dark, industrial techno journey at the mainstage, with her relentless pacing and raw energy offering a stark but thrilling counterpoint. Sammy Virji brought infectious UK garage bounce to the Royal Ballroom, keeping bodies moving with crisp rhythms and playful basslines. Later in the night Hamdi followed with weighty low-end and bass influences that hit hard in all the right ways over at the Royal Ballroom stage. Max Styler then smoothed things out with a polished house set that balanced groove and melody, and Ben Sterling locked the crowd into a hypnotic tech-house flow that felt intimate yet powerful in the new Conservatory stage which was a highlight of the festival. Closing out the night, Zedd delivered a polished, hit-packed mainstage performance, complete with massive visuals and more crowd-wide sing-alongs that unified the festival in classic Decadence fashion.

NYE elevated the energy even further with a lineup that was perfectly suited for the situation. I began the night with Kaskade who delivered a euphoric, emotionally grounded set that blended timeless melodies with festival-ready progression, serving as a perfect stepping stone for the night. Mike Posner, a lineup surprise, brought a pop-forward, crossover performance that stood out against the rest of the festival offerings. I then moved on over to SG Lewis and his disco-tinged warmth and smooth, soulful rhythms that offered a welcome shift in pace. GRiZ, who was highly anticipated with his return from a couple year hiatus, delivered one of the weekend’s most defining moments with a joyous, funk-infused set that blended bass, live sax, and heartfelt emotion as the crowd ushered in the New Year. The balloons fell from the rafters early into his set as the clock struck midnight and the crowd became even more jubilant. The energy surged with Chase & Status back at the Royal Ballroom, whose high-octane DnB set injected pure adrenaline into the festival grounds. Back at the mainstage, Fisher took over with irresistible house grooves and nonstop movement that he is known for. Finally, fan-favorite Subtronics closed the festival with controlled chaos, unleashing heavy drops, intricate sound design, and explosive energy that sent bass fans home on a high. Together, night two showcased Decadence Arizona at its most dynamic, proving once again that the festival thrives on both variety and spectacle.

Other than the music, Decadence offered no shortage of experiences to explore between sets. Attendees could wander through the Playground and Bazaar, both packed with interactive attractions, art installations, and spaces to recharge or discover something new along with local DJs tailoring the vibes. The three-channel silent disco is always a hit, which spotlights some of Arizona’s best local talent and gave festivalgoers a more intimate way to stay dancing long after bouncing between the three main stages.
Decadence and the Relentless Beats team really took it up a notch this year, with the addition of the Conservatory stage being a standout and elevated the festival greatly for me and fellow underground music fans. From what I heard from other patrons, this was a big step up for the festival with many people already anticipating coming back next year. The team has already announced their theme for 2026: Sands of Eternity. We are already looking forward to it and see how Decadence can be elevated any more from this year’s high.
