Cashmere Cat – With Me

Cashmere Cat – With Me

Ever since his Diplo & Friends mix, Cashmere Cat has stunned the world with an entirely different kind of electronic music. I’ve heard ‘Future Trap’ being thrown around as the Norwegian producer’s genre, but I think putting him in a box like that is unfair because Cashmere Cat is one of the few remaining producers that is making truly original and unique music. Magnus Høiberg’s latest creation, ‘With Me’, highlights his creative talents perfectly. ‘With Me’ is one of the tracks on Cashmere Cat’s upcoming “Wedding Bells EP”, with an expected January release. Every time you listen through the song, you will hear a new element of the track that changes its personality entirely. I will admit that the first time I listened to it, I wasn’t impressed, especially after falling in love with ‘Pearls’ a few weeks ago. But around the 2nd or 3rd time listening to it, I was in awe of how many different layers of sound he had managed to put together in this musical lasagna. Seamlessly blending organic and electronic sounds together, ‘With Me’ is one of those songs that you can’t help but call beautiful, and is exactly the reason why I think Cashmere Cat is the best producer of 2013. We can’t wait to see what 2014 holds for Magnus Høiberg.
