Last year, JEANIE unleashed her fury with “Bulletproof” featuring drillstep pioneer BLUPILL and her mind-tingling weapon has now been pumped with new life as she has called on a collection of rising stars to deliver four new renditions of the bone-rattling behemoth. Plus, she has also decided to serve up a menacing VIP edit of her original.
Coming as a colossal package featuring remixes from Rebel Scum, VRG, CHYL, and Eyezic, “Bulletproof” has now ventured into the realms of drum’n’bass, speed house in addition to remaining a destructive dubstep weapon.
“‘Bulletproof’ has been a staple in my sets throughout the past year, so I wanted to switch it up with a wonkier version. It’s been getting a crazy reaction live, and I’m stoked to be putting it out alongside some incredible remixes,” JEANIE explains.
CHYL shares: “JEANIE’s original Bulletproof track was full of energy and grit, so I wanted to match that energy but also create something a bit more fun and bouncy, which eventually evolved to the final version of this remix. Really excited for everyone to hear this 150 bpm speed house remix!”
Eyezic speaks on how the remix came to be, “I remember in early 2021 when I had first met JEANIE and did a flip to one of her records. I was so stoked on approaching the ‘bass’ sound as I’ve never really entered that realm before. A year goes by and I’ve been given the opportunity to do an official remix, this time for a heavy-hitting record ‘Bulletproof.’ When writing this project, I really didn’t know where to start other than the initial beat from the intro. Afterwards, I immediately tackled the drop and went for a ‘familiar’ yet twist on the drop that resonated with what I would have envisioned it. From interesting sound design, to automations, this track was truly a lot of fun to work on, and I can’t thank JEANIE and the team for having me!”
