After popping onto the scene in a big way joining forces with Rezz for their collaborative rework of “Edge” before quickly reuniting for their forward-thinking four-track NOVUS EP, the anonymous newcomer X1-Y2 continues to be one to watch with the release of his Caustics EP.
Quickly becoming a HypnoVizion fan favorite, the man of mystery showcases his production prowess unleashing his fury in the form of a three-track offering serving as collection of haunting, minimalist soundscapes fueled by complex arrangement of glitchy textures and pulsating rhythms.
“With this EP I wanted to work around the concept of refraction and light caustics, designing sounds around that theme. Inspired by industrial tonalities mixed with bass heavy rhythms and distortion, created through multiple glass hitting recordings made through months. It also serves as a starting point for what I’m creating next,” X1-Y2 explains.
