John Summit has been playing out his bootleg remix of the classic trance song, “Silence” for years now. The original was produced by Canadian duo Delerium, made up of Bill Leeb and Rhys Fulber. The vocalist, who you may recognize, is a Canadian heavy-weight, Sarah McLachlan. Her 1997 album, “Surfacing” contained one of the most haunting ballads ever written. “Angel” is one of those songs that will bring you to your knees when it comes on. It does for me.
The track gained global popularity after it was remixed by Tiësto in 2000, becoming one of the most iconic trance anthems of all time. That remix helped bridge mainstream and electronic music audiences, solidifying “Silence” as a dancefloor classic. Mixmag ranked the remix the 12th greatest dance track of all time.
Summit infused new life into the original with his juicy tech-house elements with Sarah’s otherworldly topline. The remix is out now via Tomorrowland Music/Experts Only and ready for your summer playlist. Make sure to play it for your friends to become the life of the party.
