The wait is over! The Weeknd has officially dropped his highly anticipated album, “Hurry Up Tomorrow”, via XO / Republic Records. This release isn’t just another milestone—it’s the closing act of the diamond-certified artist’s trilogy, following “After Hours” and “Dawn FM”. Coming off a historic 2024—where he became the first artist to have 27 songs surpass a billion streams each on Spotify—The Weeknd continues to raise the bar.
Originally set for release on January 24th with a one-night-only concert at the Rose Bowl, the album was postponed in light of the Palisades and Eaton Fires. Instead of celebrating, The Weeknd donated $1 million to wildfire relief efforts and pledged proceeds from “Take Me Back To LA” to the LA Regional Food Bank.
The album arrives with the kind of grandeur only The Weeknd can deliver. He teased it with a massive stadium show in São Paulo, streamed globally on YouTube, featuring surprise appearances from Playboi Carti and Anitta. The performance trended in 24 countries, and the song “Timeless” debuted in the Billboard Hot 100’s Top 3.
To celebrate, The Weeknd launched a “Hurry Up Tomorrow” Pop-Up Experience in NYC from January 31st to February 2nd. I wish we could have been in town for that. Hot Topic is also rolling out a full merchandise collection, including a special edition vinyl in collaboration with Frank Miller.
Later this year, he’ll star in a psychological thriller inspired by the album, set to hit theaters on May 16, 2025. This isn’t just an album—it’s a full-scale cultural moment, cementing The Weeknd’s status as one of the biggest artists in the world and one of the most influential artists of all time.
