Fresh off of teaming up with WHIPPED CREAM for “I AM A GOD,” Nostalgix returns to Dim Mak to share her emotionally charged new single, “Show Me Love.”
Making a name for herself by unloading a steady barrage of club weapons throughout her career, her third appearance on Steve Aoki‘s powerhouse imprint is a vocal-driven gem driven by a trance-like melody where the Canadian talent tackles themes of heartbreak, isolation, and loneliness in what is an ode to her darker days last year,
“Last year I was going through hell. I went through my biggest heartbreak, and experienced so much loss in my life. I felt so torn and alone. I felt like I was constantly fighting this battle. I knew that one day I would heal and get through it, but it felt so difficult to see the other end of it. Everything felt like it was falling apart. I got into the studio and tried working on music, but nothing clicked,” Nostalgix explains.
“I tried making records that were more “fun” and “hype”, but I felt so disconnected from everything I was making. I decided to scrap it all and turned on my microphone to capture the emotion I was feeling. I wrote “Show Me Love” so quickly. It felt like the song was just waiting to come out of me. It was my first time singing on a record, and being so open and vulnerable with how I was feeling…“Show Me Love” is about feeling lost, not knowing how you’re gonna get to the other side of it. But having hope in knowing that one day things will get better.”
