Making their presence felt throughout the year with a steady slew of singles such as “Falling,” “Believe It” with Madeon, “Slow” alongside pluko and ?aszewo, Louis The Child has unveiled their new single “Make You Mine” in addition to announcing the release date for their sophomore album!
Connecting with Whethan and Hayley May for their latest offering, the Chicago duo closes out the summer strong with a booming house hit that sets the tone for what’s to come from their forthcoming body of work.
“We’ve known Whethan for almost 10 years now and came up around the same time in Chicago. We shared a studio back then and moved to L.A. around the same time to continue our pursuit of music,” recalls Louis The Child. “Whethan came with us on tour in Europe, and we traveled to South America for the first time on a festival run together. He’s someone we look at as a brother, and getting to release another song with him is really special.”
Whethan adds, “The first time I went to a studio and made music was with Louis The Child back in Chicago when we were still in high school. I’ve since gotten to travel the world with them. I’m excited to showcase a new collaboration that shows our evolution.”
“Hayley’s voice was like magic,” Louis The Child adds. “It was our first time working with her and she just has this crazy range and soul to her voice. If she didn’t, we would have surely made a very different song that day.”
Hayley May recalls, “Working with everyone on this record was a fantastic experience. We jammed together, and I shared some topline ideas that we developed as a team. I suggested we try a slower tempo to explore melodies, and once we structured the song and sped it up, we felt great about the sound. It flowed organically, especially for our first collaboration. I’m honored to be part of this record and can’t wait for its release to the world.”
