New York-based duo Truth x Lies has made quite an impression on the electronic dance scene. The duo has had an exhilarating start to their young career, winning Insomniac’s Discovery Project in 2017 with their first original production ‘City Lights’, as well as BONNIE X CLYDE’s Bass Jam Remix Competition for 2017’s ‘Wanted’ EP. Their tech-house sound has garnered support from the likes of Zeds Dead, AC Slater, Tiësto, Dombresky, Pasquale Rotella, and more. Today, they return with the release of their new song “Like This.”
“Like This” starts off with a bumping bassline before the vocal stylings of Kelly Rowland kick in, sampled from her song with the same title. After hearing how the sample fits in, it is surprising that it hadn’t been done before. The snares throughout give the song an infectious rhythm along with all of the other snippets of instruments and production elements thrown in. The four-on-the-floor beat adds to the danciness of the song and it is sure to get the people moving.
“After a string of bootlegs, we decided to re-work one of our favorite R&B tunes from the mid-90’s. You can never go wrong with a Kelly Rowland vocal, so the record pretty much wrote itself. We just added a big bassline, crunchy drums, and some of those aggressive Truth x Lies synths to make it a club-ready weapon.” -Truth x Lies
“Like this” is out now via Glasgow Underground and you can find it on your favorite streaming platforms. This is just another hit to add to the duo’s stacked repertoire and one that will surely not disappoint on the dancefloor. So check it out now and you’ll be bumping like this in no time.
