[TSS Premiere] Papa Khan Knows You “Never Cared”

[TSS Premiere] Papa Khan Knows You “Never Cared”
Brian Poles

After taking the scene by storm in 2018, Papa Khan has been leading the charge in the Indonesian bass community. He infuses melodic elements into dubstep and riddim which makes his sound truly unique. He has earned praise from the likes of Skrillex, Illenium, Marshmello, and other heavyweights in the scene which proves that Papa Khan is a force to be reckoned with. Today, he returns to Monstercat with his new single “Never Cared.”

“Never Cared” combines nostalgic pop-punk elements with his melodic dubstep sound. Inspired by toxic past relationships, the song serves as a therapeutic outlet for him with lyrics conveying his frustrations over his previous partner’s “games.” There is loftiness to the song, especially in the opening chords before the emotion of the lyrics flow through and the breakdown of the drop. The drop utilizes bassy synths and is incredibly bouncy. Papa Khan shares “For those who have been betrayed and hurt, this one is for you.”

You can stream and download “Never Cared” now via Monstercat. If you are a fan, you can also catch Papa Khan this spring as he makes his North American debut on a 21-stop tour with Maruda. You can see the full tour schedule below. So take a listen to “Never Cared” now and be sure to go and see him when he comes to a city near you!
