A few months ago we highlighted the rise of Veer. The ascending dubstep producer had just dropped his ‘Malfunction’ EP on Never Say Die Black Label, proving to the world his serious production chops. Now the 18 year old producer is back with the first song off of his upcoming ‘IDK’ EP, “Happy Cup.”
“Happy Cup” is glitchy and synthy. Featuring many highs with very little lows and downtime. The first drop has a kind of Flume feel to it with the glitches and rhythm they are arranged in but with a more classic dubstep bassline and kicks behind it. The second drop is much more of Veer’s own, where there is more chaos and less pattern. The song pops, almost quite literally as each note passes by. It gives you a feeling of energy but there is some homeliness to it as well.
You can stream and pre-save “Happy Cup” and the entire ‘IDK’ EP now down below. This is the first song of the EP with the rest coming to you throughout the week. The full EP is dropping on March 5 via Never Say Die. I can tell you now that not one of the four tracks are very much similar and that there is something for everyone here. So check out “Happy Cup” now and get to sippin’ on the feels of this new tune.
