Toronto-based producer ZABO first burst onto the scene two years ago with his remix of Wax Motif and Vindata’s hit single “Crazy” and has been consistently pumping out tracks since then. His first large-scale release came last year with his ‘Blood Moon’ EP which features seven-tracks. Through his brooding downtempo sound he has ridden the wave of the genre’s increasing popularity and has carved his own niche in the space. His latest release “Freaky” demonstrates his ability to be unique in this space and shows that he belongs.
“Freaky” goes from dark and brooding with its melody to energetic and rocking through its drop. The song elicits goosebumps throughout and fully satisfies a variety of emotions which you hope for in a song. It just isn’t one feeling that it brings but a mix of perpetual hopelessness and salvageable brightness.
“Freaky” is out now via Uprise Music where ZABO has become a mainstay. The producer has made his name known on the label with a number of releases through it and has become a fan-favorite there. With support coming from Drezo and the likes, we think we will be seeing ZABO coming up big time throughout the year so be prepared for his menacing takeover of your personal soundscape.
