Did Hellberg And Leona Lewis Strike Gold With “Headlights”?

Swedish youngster no more returns today to set your weekend on a new high. We have been lucky to watch Hellberg rise from a bedroom producer to what soon may be a household name.

I was able to meet Jonathan and his manager during Miami Music Week a few years back. Deadmau5 was set to perform b2b with Eric Prydz and there was a software issue that didn’t allow Joel to connect his laptop. He threw a fit and walked out. This was right before Don Diablo had played a massive set. Guess who was supposed to play next? Yup, you guessed it, Hellberg.

Don Diablo was notified of the situation and had the car turned around on the way to Ultra to go b2b with the Swedish DJ’s first USA show. It was probably the most incredible thing I’ve seen in the 9 years I have been in the scene.

Today we are stoked to share Hellberg’s new single “Headlights.” This track has massive potential. Leona’s vocal layering on this record is world class. His production chops deserve some recognition here. The bells, the synth flares, the percussive elements used to spice this tune up. This record has a high level of attention to detail and can truly say I am thoroughly impressed! Save this single to your Spotify playlist and make sure to share with a friend. Hellberg also had the following to say about the release,

“I’ve been working on Headlights for over a year now and I’m so excited to finally be able to release it with the amazing Leona Lewis. She’s been the most gracious and professional artist I’ve worked with and getting to know her these last few months has been amazing.”

He continues, “The record is about independence and about finding the strength to break free from a bad relationship. If it can make someone out there say “enough is enough” and help them change their life for the better, then I’d be incredibly happy.”

“Working with Hellberg on creating something so different has been a lot of fun!” said Leona.

“‘Headlights’ is about finding your own light and trusting in your own strength to get through tough times. I love being able to use my voice in different types of music to touch people across the world. I hope this song connects as deeply with everyone as it does with me.”
