To get us into the weekend, I’ve got a great new EP, “Take the Cake,” from Cheshire. Out now via Lowtemp, the release blends live elements of funk and soul along with synthesized bassline and drum production into a tight package.
Cheshire has always found his solace in producing funky electronic music and made a remarkable impact on the electronic bass music scene, mixing live elements of funk and soul along with tight synthesized bassline and drum production. Back in 2008 he experimented with dubstep and released the number one selling EP, “Punk”, on Rottun Records.
However, after a 3 year hiatus Cheshire stunned the glitch hop scene with his 2013 release, “The Funk’d Up EP”, which held the number one position on the Beatport charts for over a month. The switch in production has gained him a reputation for packing dancefloors and filling sound systems with his funk infused Latin laced rhythms. In the following years he’s become a regular on the festival circuit, gracing the stages at Earth Frequency, Island Vibe, Bushweek, Earth Dance, Rabbits Eat Lettuce and plenty more.
