Chris Lund aka Left/Right works from the shadows as a dj, producer, promoter, and professor. His music has been featured in DJ Mag, Mixmag, UKF, Dancing Astronaut, and Insomniac and garnered support from Oliver Heldens, Mr Carmack, Zeds Dead, Wuki, My Nu Leng, BBC Radio 1, Rinse FM and more. Earlier this week he had a new release come out for artist Karma Fields. They released a tune with famous pop singer Tove Lo called Colorblind. L/R loved the original and decided to make his remix with the melodic vocals and his signature bass sound. I loved the synths he used that just blend well with the rest of the song. The piercing basslines are a staple in every one of his productions and this one is no exception. I’m a sucker for the Amen Break drum sample so when I heard it I flipped out. There’s alot of emotion coming from L/R’s sound design and Tove’s vocals.
“Working on this remix for Karma and Tove Lo was really incredible and one of my favorite tunes I’ve worked on in awhile… the song really resonated with me. I often make clubby tunes but I tried to push a more introspective feeling on this one. I wanted to maximize the emotional depth in the lyrics and vocal performance and I’m really happy with how it turned out: kind of a raw blend of joy and sorrow.” – Left/Right
