It’s a special thing watching a smaller festival blossom into something larger than you imagined. One major indicator that an event is blowing up, is the amount of top tier headliners on the bill. There’s definitely festivals out there going for a more low key vibe and this tip might not apply to them. For the most part (at least to the trained eye) though, you can gauge how successful a fest is and has been by the evolution of the lineup. One event in particular has been on the up and up these past few years. If you’ve been following 515 Alive, then you’ve seen the same grind and growth as us.
The 2018 lineup features Future and Bassnectar, with names like RL Grime, Trippie Redd, Denzel Curry and Cashmere Cat rounding out the headliners. The undercard on this one holds some serious weight too. It’s got to be a toss up between The Trifinity or Digital Ethos b2b Chee for what has me the most intrigued. This year they will also have an option to camp on-site. However, that option is going to be pretty limited so cop while you can. Tickets for the self-proclaimed “wildest weekend in Iowa” are going quick, be sure you don’t miss out!
