Do you ever find yourself having a bunch of dope songs that you don’t know how to organize? They don’t really fit into your workout, chill, driving, rage, or pregame playlists, but you know you want to save them for safe keeping. This playlist series, Higher Ground, serves as just that. We will include records from artists circling the globe, from Indian, New Zealand, and Australia to local talents here in the U.S.
You may not like all the records due to their different styles, but if you even find just one, it counts as success for me. Let’s take this a step further and make a deal. If you find a song that you add to your collection, you will share the link to this article with your friends in return. Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, you name it. A trade off, eh? This is both a way to help talented artists get their voices heard and a way to connect with friends over social media with similar music interests.
For the first installment I am kicking it off with Krewella’s new collaboration with R3HAB titled “Ain’t That Why.” I really enjoyed this track, but wasn’t sure which playlist of mine it would fit in with. With this confusion came a quick solution, and after some planning Higher Ground 001 was born.
