Troy Prokopowich has been producing hard hitting bass for awhile now, in a similar vein as G Jones and Sayer. You may have previously heard some of his tracks being dropped by Pressha at WTF or Konnexion. Being his debut EP, it really establishes some signature Proko vibes. He has done some one-off tunes previously, but this really showcases his skills.
The EP opens with the synth-heavy “TTF” and after the first breakdown you will be entirely enthralled in his world. You’ll surely obey every ‘jump’ the tune throws your way as if you have been abducted by his alien resonance. Go a little deeper into his world and you find “Block Streets” which just goes ham. His use of vocal samples are otherworldly and the cacophony of sound he’s brought together is unreal. Finally, rounding out the EP he has a collaboration with NastyNasty, “Loud”. This tune is a perfect harmony of their two distinct styles. NastyNasty bringing in more of an acid like, liquidy vibe to the track and Proko providing some heavy drums.
We highly suggest you let Proko beam you up and take a listen via the link below. If you are so inclined, you can also download the entire EP. Live long and prosper, bass heads.
