How can a word so small be so powerful? This thought-provoking question is the driving factor in Xavier White’s latest EP, Cancer vs. Gemini. This is the first time hearing of Xavier and I am impressed with what I am hearing. Beginning with “Is That Love?” on Valentine’s Day, White’s year has been solely focused on the 5-track collection, produced by Paul Couture. This past May, the second track “New York Times,” was not only released, it was accompanied by a music video premiered on College Weekly as well.
The remaining three tracks – “Spend The Night,” “Nothing But Time,” and “Carnival” – round out the EP with a blend of both well-produced beats and relatable lyrics. The Cancer vs. Gemini EP is a sensual, R&B journey through love and heartache that everyone can enjoy during the hazy summer months. Uprise Music continues to sign hits.
