It seems like no matter where we look, there’s a new remix of OMI ready to steal our hearts. Last year, it was Felix Jaehn’s re-imagination of “Cheerleader,” which not only went on to become a global phenomenon on its way to charting in the top spot on iTunes in over 55 countries, but also marked the emergence of the melodic house genre. Last week, one of Norway’s up-and-comers, Bergs, was up to bat, delivering a groovy house rendition of “Hitchhiker” with just enough pop elements to have us singing along to it all week long. Now, we’ve got the second release off of OMI’s forthcoming ME 4 U remix package, and he’s tabbed the Romanian melodic house maestro, Boehm, for an imaginative take on “Standing On All Threes” that has us dreaming of summer.
Armed with his sun-soaked brand of house, Boehm has built a reputation for himself with his plethora of remixes that dabble in the melodic side of the house genre, and his take on “Standing On All Threes” is no different. OMI’s infectiously catchy vocals are kept untouched, while Boehm works his magic on the rest of the production, turning the blank canvas into a bouncy, slowed-down house anthem with stand-out woodwind melodies and percussion arrangements. Take a peep at the remix below, and you can get Boehm’s take on “Standing On All Threes” here.
