In recent years, Australia has been responsible for a number of artists who have stormed onto the international dance music scene and completely changed the world’s perception on a genre, or championed a brand new sub-genre to the masses. Coming into 2014, artists like Flume, Chet Faker, and Ta-Ku made sure that Australia was a known mecca for dance music, announcing to the world that they, and the future genre that they brought with them, were here to stay. In 2015, a new wave of artists hailing from Australia emerged, championed by the likes of Anna Lunoe, Peking DuK, and Anna Lunoe, that brought a bass-heavy style of house music that was an instant year. The latest emerging artist to be considered with these dance luminaries is Elk Road, a mysterious Perth-based producer that recently resurfaced in Western Australia’s thriving dance scene with his unique fusion of dance and hip-hop.
Elk Road made his debut earlier this year with stand-out remixes of Charli XCX and Carmada, but he’s since turned his attention to telling his own story. “Not to Worry” was his debut original, and it featured an electro-tinged, bass-heavy production with clear hip-hop influences. The official music video for “Not to Worry” tells a story about escape and freedom, as it steals your attention from the monotony of daily life and captures it in a beautiful four minute video.
