LA-based house music mastermind, Justin Jay, never ceases to impress – and surprise. By now, you may have heard about his new project, Justin Jay & Friends, through word-of-mouth, his recent After Hours mix on Pete Tong’s BBC Radio 1 show, his live sets, or maybe some other way, but if you haven’t, this 22-year-old producer/DJ has been collaborating with his college friends, specifically Josh Taylor (vocals) and Benny Bridges (guitar). Although Justin has played with them on several occasions, he hadn’t put out a song with them until today. Armed with Benny’s crunchy guitar riffs, Justin Jay took on Alison Wonderland’s “Take It To Reality” and transformed it into a warehouse-ready tech-house weapon that breaks down the rock/dance barrier. Check it out and download it here. Justin’s currently on his Mom, I Graduated! World Tour so check out his dates and buy tickets here.
Justin Jay had some of his own words for the release, “Sometimes making music can be a really intense, serious, grueling process. Other times it’s about being silly and goofing around with your homies. Ben is a crazy jazz/blues guitarist and we had fun pretending to be tough on this remix for Alison Wonderland. We’ve been making a ton of music together with our homie Josh Taylor so keep your ear out for Benny Bridges, laying it down on guitar.”
