20-year-old producer/DJ, Robert Hughes, professionally known as Vincent (previously XVII), is stirring up a storm with his distinctive fusion of future bass and trap. There are many artists who try to imitate, but Vincent lies in a cut above the rest as he focuses on innovation. This mind set has driven his studio work, which has been supported by some of the best in the game, including Diplo, RL Grime, Flosstradamus, TWRK, and more. Clearly, he has the talent to carry him for many years to come, and he’s continuing to reinforce this claim with each release.
Vincent’s most recent offering is a remix of Alessia Cara’s hit, “Here,” which is from her Four Pink Walls EP that was released late last month. Her original is a smooth, jazzy beat-based number with infectious lyrics, so it made for a perfect canvas for a remix. Vincent took elements from the original and added shimmering melodies, beefed up bass, and more to give it his own trademark flair that’s dripping with vibes. Listen to the remix below!
