Last month, Duke Dumont came out and shared his thoughts about why he thoughts albums were dead in electronic music. While his points may be valid, I think it’s safe to say that since Dumont said that, there have been a number of stand-out album releases, including Disclosure’s Caracal and Husky’s Break Free.
The third single off of Husky’s album is “Next To You,” a classic house hit from start to finish featuring vocals by Natalie Wood. Thumping percussion sequences are perfectly paired with a pulsing bass line and heady synths to create a house track for the ages, making it the perfect remix candidate. The official “Next To You” remix package features re-imaginations by Tom Budin, Carl Hanaghan, Tonia & Santiago, and Dan K, who each offer an unique take on the track while still keeping the groovy house backbone of the original.
