Pulling on the heartstrings of a bygone era filled with Sony Walkmen, frosted tips, and angsty teenage music, Kasum delivers a rocking remix filled with a variety of fluent transitioning and an incredible vocal cover by the talented Megan Hamilton that would make even 2002’s Avril crack a smile. With a slight dark-tuning to Lavigne’s original delivery and over a slow chord progression, the song perfectly fits with the underlying themes present in the original, leading into a much lighter synth and acid bass run. Kasum and Hamilton strike the perfect mix of production and cover in this song, allowing the crowd to easily sing along with the radio favorite, before ending the piece with thumping base and rock-influenced drums. With the essence of essential throwback bleeding through this songs composition, Kasum appears to have hit the nail on the head once again with this free summer download.
