Deeper genres of house have evolved since warehouse parties, and creative producers are using new elements left and right to generate a synthesis of sounds to produce niche genres. Michael Calfan decided to use the organic nature of the ivory piano and his experience producing big room to create his own genre that he calls soul house. To give another example of its versatile composition, he puts forth “Mercy,” a house smash at its core keeps the mood light yet substantially big enough to be put on any stage size.
