Take a Disco Nap with Oliver Heldens’ Latest Mix
Garret

Hailing from the mecca of dance music – the Netherlands, Oliver Heldens has already climbed many mountains in his short career as a producer, and it doesn’t seem like he’s stopping any time soon. Armed with his groove-driven brand of house music, Heldens championed the rise of a new genre, future house, alongside the Frenchman, Tchami. The house maestro has showcased his strong production skill, as he has garnered 5 Beatport #1 singles to his name, and his single, “Gecko (Overdrive)” was a certified Gold release – all before he could legally drink in the states. Now, Heldens is solidifying his reputation as a tastemaker in the music industry, as he has delivered a stunning sixty minute disco mix for his label, Musical Freedom.

While the mix is a step away from his typical future house offerings, Heldens gives a phenomenal effort at highlighting his tastemaking ability. He effortlessly moves between euro clash, funk, euro pop, and disco, weaving together classics by the likes of Armand van Helden and Daft Punk, with new school originals like Madonna and Martin Solveig.
