While it finally starts to feel like spring here in New York, all we can think about is Governors Island opening up next month for the summer. For those who don’t know, Governors Island is been arguably the best venue in New York this summer. You can’t beat having an island that turns into a mini-festival, only a quick ferry ride away.
As we slowly approach the opening of Governors, news has broken that a new outdoor event series, “Open Air NY” will be calling the island home. The inaugural season will start in May 16th with “Believe” with Boris, Steve Lawler and The Junkies (tickets on sale Tuesday April 21 at 5pm EST at OpenAirNY.com) and run through the end of September. Fans who have visited Governors Club in previous years should be pleased with all the enhancements that will be taking place especially for “Open Air NY.”
