No up-and-coming artists have left me speechless with their releases like the Vancouver native, SYRE, has. The 18-year-old producer has a keen sense of what sounds good together, giving him a strong grasp on sound design and the ability to create beautiful soundscapes, as seen in his massive remix of “All In My Head” by Pat Lok, and his debut Whistleback EP. Now, SYRE has returned with his latest original, “Burn,” featuring Kendra Dias as the vocalist. “Burn” is a groovy, house tune with clear nu-disco influences, as SYRE layers together subtle synth stabs with smooth guitar riffs and bubbling bass lines that are only bolstered by Dias’ beautiful vocals.
