Ricky Vaughn, undoubtedly one of the most important names in moombahton, has just released the fifth and final volume of his “Art of Moombahton” mix series, ending on a high note with a mix made up entirely of his own original tracks and collaborations, most of which are unreleased. This mix contains everything you would expect from a master moombahton DJ and producer – booty-shaking latin vibes, 110 BPM grooves, and tons of hip hop influence.
Moving forward, Ricky will be releasing an EP with Babygrande Records, tentatively scheduled for late this spring, which will mark an ascension from the world of strictly moombahton production into incorporating a wider variety of styles. As he said in a recent statement, “At the end of the day I’m a dance music producer – I make music that makes people dance, and I’m more comfortable being called that than being confined to one sub-genre style or another. The EP I’m putting the finishing touches on now encapsulates many of these styles, but it all sounds 100% Ricky Vaughn.”
