Kendrick Lamar ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’ Album Artwork & Updated Tracklist

The dude who you can always count on to make some noise within the hip hop community is back and he goes by Kendrick Lamar!

The rapper out of Compton took to Twitter a couple of days ago and tweeted a link to preorder his third album. When you click the link all you get is a list of untitled tracks and a black box as the album art, leaving everybody anxiously waiting. Lamar and his label, Top Dawg Ent, have hinted on various social media sites recently that something huge was coming. If you’ve been to the Twitter of Schoolboy Q or Kendrick in the past few weeks you may have noticed their pictures are just a black box.

One can only assume this release is what they were foreshadowing. Lamar had Instagram on fire last night when he posted a picture of what appears to be a group of young men celebrating at the white house on top of a judge who has an x drawn over each eye. Along with his album cover he gave a few words and many skeptics believe that in these words sit his album title.

"Don't all dogs go to heaven? Don't Gangsta's boogie? Do owl shit stank? Lions, Tigers & Bears. But TO PIMP A BUTTERFLY. Its the American dream nigga…." – lil Homie.

Many are expecting this album to put Kendrick in the discussion with west coast icons like Snoop and NWA. His similar style when it comes to what he raps about and how it is so much more than just rap to him is what has elevated his career.

After making a huge splash on the festival scene this past summer K. Dot has been silent other than releasing his single “The Blacker The Berry” which will be featured on the album. You can expect this album to be one of the best of the year; I mean come on it already has over 1,500 reviews on iTunes and a 5 star rating.

It is available for preorder through iTunes now and is expected to be released March 23rd.
