Kehlani Features BJ The Chicago Kid In Smooth New Track “Down For You”

Bay Area R&B singer Kehlani might just be the hottest new artist in the business right now. That’s quite a a big statement but she seems to be all anyone is talking about these days. After being featured on fellow Bay artist G-Eazy nationwide tour, the singer, dancer, songwriter and former America’s Got Talent Star is making the rounds and turning heads where ever she goes from fans and industry officials alike. Still buzzing off her latest tape “Cloud 19”, she’s celebrating her 20th with a new tape and treats fans to the first cut off the project “You Should Be Here” with “Down For You” featuring BJ The Chicago Kid (Who seems to be on every awesome album that’s been out over the last year).

“Down For You” features beautiful piano chords, funky basslines, knocking drum sequences and of course, some jaw dropping vocals from both Kehlani and BJ The Chicago Kid. If this is your first intro to Kehlani, make sure you head over and check the rest of her songs because she has more beautiful bangers to back this one up. However, if this record is any indication, she has some great new tunes coming down the pipe that you want to be on the lookout for.

If your someone sick of the cookie cutter pop and R&B singers, this is the artist you’ve been waiting for. Raw, soulful and honest, Kehlani is carving out a lane all her own. This is the kind of the song you bump in the car, driving down the beach, top down, smoking blunts with your bae and the speakers turnt way up!

I've been called "The Male Oprah Of DJ's", "The Mayor of Camp Bisco", and just plainly known and described as "That Is SoNick". Former member of the EDM/Mashup group Pulse FX (featured twice on ThisSongSlaps), I now spend my days soundcloud diving for new tracks at my full time job, frequenting concerts in the winter until it's festival season in the summer, and taking full advantage of my wife's family and friends discount at Guitar Center. Doesn't matter if it's a Glitch Mob show or Chadwick Stokes, you will most likely see me holding court in the smoking area or side stage talking endlessly on all things music. From everything to new tracks, new artists, production methods and performance styles, I have an opinion on everything and I have no problem sharing it.
