Jamie XX Releases New Track From Upcoming Album
Alex Prevey

Jamie XX of the very popular London based group, The XX , launches another song off of his upcoming debut solo album. With a release of three other songs off of In Colour, due to drop June 2nd, the album is shaping up to be another great work by the talented producer. With the album set to drop only two weeks before his appearance at Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, I’m sure many of the attendants will have the pleasure of hearing these tracks firsthand. The track “Gosh” shows his ability to work in masterful ways with very little, creating a compelling production from simple loops that slowly build on one another as the piece progresses. This follows with simplistic echoing samples and a constant stream of low-end drums, creating a compelling center movement from which he takes a sudden switch into the high pitched keyboard playing that brings the piece together as a whole. Just as with his more well known work, Jamie XX Shows immense talent and the ability to move listeners with his simplistic yet wonderful production. Give “Gosh” a listen and watch out for In Colour this June.
