Electro Funk Soul producer Gramatik dropped a crazy new Grindhouse inspired visual for his track “Torture” feat Eric Kranso.
Gramatik has been one of the artists on the forefront of expanding the sound electronic music mixing funk, soul, hip hop and rock along with his piers like Big Gigantic, Griz and Mr. Derek Vincent Smith aka Pretty Lights. In this track, Gramatik dishes out the bass in heavy doses mixed in with knocking drum breaks, loud buzzing wobble synths, filtered and phased vocal cuts with slick guitar samples mixed in. “Torture” is another bullet in the chamber when he starts killing festival crowds and stages across the world.
Directed and Produced by Leo Marthaler & Alban Delachenal, this video looks like it could’ve been directed by Quinten Terentino or Paul Rodriguez with it’s classic, subversive, old Americana style. If you’re looking for Gramatik in the video, please point him out to me because I doubt he’s really that old hippy going on this crazy off road adventure. Never the less, this video takes you on a wild ride of biker bar parties, high speed chases, hot chicks with swords and cats. This is something you want to throw on next time you’re at the house playing youtube playlists through your Xbox because it’s just good as anything on Netflix right now.
Gramatik is one of the best doing it right now and this should be the standard by which we judge other electronic music videos. It takes you into a wild story and compliments the song perfectly more than twerking asses or people goin up in the club ever could. Check out the video and turn those speakers up loud!
