What’s better than breaking into the weekend with some new music by the one and only, Deadmau5. Once again teaming up with the beautiful vocals of Colleen D’Agostino the two create a new compelling Progressive House track worthy of all the weekend warriors. With Colleen D’Agostino set to release a new EP, Collide, on Mau5trap Records, and with her upcoming performance with Deadmau5 at the 2015 Juno Awards in Canada this sunday, we can expect a powerful show between these two artists. This debut is sure to gain her even more recognition as their last song, “Seeya” off of While 1<2 showcased their pairing, this song concretes the success in the collaborative nature of the duo. Hopefully we get to see some more of their collaborations on Colleen’s Ep, “Collide” which in her words will be coming “soon’ish”.
The track begins with a focus on Colleen’s vocals, floating melodically over a complimentary piano melody. Around the 1:26 mark, the track takes a turn into Progressive House, showing a very early era Deadmau5 with ties relating back to his ever popular “Strobe” back in 2010. With Deadmau5 set to headline VELD Music Festival, Bonnaroo Music Festival, and Governor’s Ball this upcoming festival season, I expect this song to grace the ears of many a festival-goer and become a powerhouse as we roll into the summer months.
