Dave Edwards has created a massive buzz over the past few years with some of his remixes that have either charted at number 1 or close to it on HypeMachine.
Dave has been in the studio with Trey Palms who has been on fire this summer with his past tracks to create “Guys Like Us”. I’ve become a big Trey Palms as of recent because he knows how to make great tracks that still have a sense of realness instead of those fake braggadocio rhymes most other rappers stick to. “Guys Like Us” is no different, a track that slaps and has an anthem type feel, but still is very relatable.
Overall the track has a masterful balance, the beat bumps and has that electronic vibe but still maintains some hip-hop elements without going full Flo-rida or Pitbull (You never go full Flo-Rida Or Pitbull). Trey’s flow and delivery on the verses are sharp but have substance the chorus is catchy… and the third verse breakdown with the guitars might be my favorite part of the song especially when it borrows some of Kanye’s Good Life magic.
This is definitely a summer track to have in heavy rotation
