You probably know Charlie Darker for his releases on Kindergarten Records (Wolfgang Gartner’s label) or for his remix of Clockwork’s best track from last summer “Surge”. What you might not know is that Charlie is a production force of nature, and his bootleg packs contain some of the best in the business.
His latest track “War Paint” is a true electro house production in the purest sense. A sharp, glitch bass reverberates over a punchy, clicky kick and the rest of the spacing is filled out with one of my favorite sound effects ever: what I call the Botnek. This new bubbly, warping bass has been all the rage in electro house lately, brought to life and fame by Botnek, now refurbished with a Darker spin (pun intended).
