Danny Brown Gets into Twitter Beef With Pretty Lights Over Nashville Show

Danny Brown Gets into Twitter Beef With Pretty Lights Over Nashville Show

Danny Brown has been on the road touring and hitting just about every show and city on the map thus far in 2013.

His highly anticipated forthcoming album Old hitting the stores this coming Tuesday, and Pretty Lights who just released A Color Map Of The Sun a few months back, were both booked to perform two shows together in St. Louis and Nashville with Danny Brown opening for Pretty Lights, before things took a turn for the worst.

Danny Brown claimed that the St. Louis show was “trash” due to an unexperienced sound man, but Pretty Lights claimed that Danny’s set was weak because after becoming angered at the lack of response from his crowd, Brown allegedly threw his microphone into the crowd at his fans.

The resulting blows exchanged between these two artists on Twitter resulted in Danny Brown announcing that he would perform at a different venue from Greer Stadium, where Pretty Lights is performing and instead, would perform at Seen Nashville around 1AM, charging $10 for guys.

After Brown’s next tour stop at the Aragon Entertainment Center in Chicago on October 25, Danny Brown is off to perform at Life is Beautiful in Las Vegas on October 26. Who else is performing at Life is Beautiful? You guessed it, Pretty Lights.

Drama like this is bound to happen when you mix two extremely diverse fan bases together, especially when it comes to EDM and hip hop.

This is unfortunate new because ironically after I came across this beef, I also came across the below mashup from Artifakt’s “Almost Grown Up”, blending Danny Brown’s “Grown Up” with Pretty Lights’ “Almost Familiar” to create an amazing sounding hip hop tune.

Maybe these artists can put the beef aside and work together at some point in the future?
