Ahh, New York City. The city that never sleeps. The Big Apple. The home for one of the biggest electronic music festivals in the world: Electric Zoo. It’s that time of year again. That time of the year when the animals start getting restless. The Summer is winding down in the U.S. and so is festival season. It’s time to finish strong and close out the season with a life changing experience.
For those who have been to the magical grounds of Randall’s Island, welcome back. For those of you traveling here for the first time, it’s nice to meet you. Whether you’re a first timer or long timer, you are going to have an amazing three days on this island. The friends you’ll meet, the sets you’ll hear, the feelings you’ll get, they will all have an ever lasting impact on your life. This truly is one of the most amazing weekends in the world and soon to be one of the most memorable in your life.
TSS is covering the festival this year and we will be out in full force to meet up with you guys and bring you coverage as the festival is going on. Below you’ll find everything you need to have an unforgettable experience at Electric Zoo.
First off, this festival has several water refill stations and a great layout that wont cause too much animal traffic. There’s benches and resting areas and as mentioned before the key hydration points. Make sure you check out the festival map here and get familiar to where you and your animals friends will be roaming to. While you’re roaming you’ll notice the beautiful scenery of the city and even find some enchanting places to relax like the electric forest. The lights and visuals spread around Randall’s will surely captivate you and your heard and bring you some peace as you indulge yourself in the amazing music buzzing around the festival grounds.
Also, we all know the lineup and the talent we will be witnessing. And as with any major festival, there are gonna be conflicts, but that has to be expected. Don’t get caught being confused and missing out on your must see performances. You can create your own schedule here to keep track of which artists you will be seeing, when and where! And of course, it wouldn’t be a festival if you didn’t come rave with us! Make sure you pair up your schedule with our authors and come catch a few sets with the team:
Now, here’s some tips and tricks for surviving Electric Zoo, nothing too in depth, just a quick top 5 to help you out:
1. Get there early – you don’t want to miss the amazing early talent and you can roam around and get a feel for the setup before the crowd pours in.
2. Bring your Camelbaks! – Yes the refill stations are amazing, they move fast, there’s multiple and the water is actually very cold and refreshing.
3. Have a plan – It’s easy to get separated from your friends. Pick a meeting spot if you happen to lose your group. There are a ton of areas to meet up on the Island.
4. Don’t be stupid – The security and staff at Electric Zoo is very caring. They also weren’t born yesterday. Don’t be foolish and do something that will get you kicked out and ruin the amazing weekend.
5. HAVE FUN – This is going to be the highlight of your summer! I promise you that!
If you already got your tickets then great, can’t wait to see you there! But if you haven’t yet, hopefully we have convinced you to come join what we believe to be the best festival all year! Limited number of tickets can be found on the Electric Zoo website.
