Moonrise Festival – Artist Spotlight – Lucky Date

Moonrise Festival – Artist Spotlight – Lucky Date

Ahh Moonrise Festival. What an amazing event this will be. A great location in Port Covington, Baltimore and legendary lineup with an absurd amount of talent. 12 hours of non-stop music spread over 4 stages and 2 days. With just one month to go and my anxiety level rising through the roof, I present to you yet another artist spotlight.

Chances are most of you don’t know much about Lucky Date. We’ll lets have a little introduction, shall we. Lucky Date, real name Jordan Atkins-Loria, grew up in the Bay Area of California and started going to raves at a pretty young age. One of his major influences was the legendary Benny Benassi. Jordan, who originally wanted to get into rap, has since elaborated on his extremely gifted talent in producing EDM and more specifically Progressive House.

Lucky Date came to light by first making tutorials for producers and the how-to’s of music making which isn’t something you generally see major artists do these days. It was a hard trip to the spotlight for Jordan, but after hammering down a unique progressive sound and receiving support from people like David Guetta and Porter Robinson, his luck had finally turned around.

As far as hit tracks go, Jordan recently released a new single, titled Fantom, on Beatport and was even featured on Zedd’s album in Fall Into The Sky. Not to mention, his remix of Hardwell’s Apollo was easily the best remix on the EP, by far. Personally, I feel as though Lucky Date doesn’t get the attention he deserves. He has a tremendous musical gift and produces some of the best Progressive House out there, yet he hasn’t blown up nearly enough.

Jordan was extremely excited to announce that he would be playing Moonrise Festival this year and more specifically on the last day, Sunday, June 9th. This is one set you do not want to miss. Make sure you check out some more of Lucky Date’s work on his Soundcloud and more importantly GET YOUR TICKETS to Moonrise Festival ASAP. TSS will be there in full force and this Festival is going to be talked about all summer. Don’t miss out!
