Dank, the CEO and founder of Funky Element Records, U.S.A. has just released his newest project, a free 4-track EP titled The Hard Knocks which you can pick up on his Soundcloud. Hailing from New York, the city that never sleeps, Dank has been at the forefront of the heavy bass culture movement since its early inception years ago. I picked my two favorite tracks off his new EP for you to check out. The first, ‘The Hard Knocks,’ is a menacing drumstep masterpiece sampling the classic tune from Annie, ‘It’s The Hard Knock Life.’ The second, ‘Shots Fired,’ is another grueling bass-heavy drumstep track with a hint of hip hop and not for the faint of heart.
