Our friend TYR is back with a brand new original mix title “Focus” full of glitched-out, smooth-flowing dubstep bass, insane chopped vocals, and groovy melodies all coming together to make a perfect Colorado funk track. Also be sure to check out his extremely popular electro soul remix of SunSquabi’s “Lone Star” next if you missed the drop late last month. Enjoy!

Las Vegas’ TYR (rhymes with fire) has just let loose his newest electronic remix of Boulder native SunSquabi’s funky original tune “Lonestar.” As if the song wasn’t funky enough to begin with, TYR fuses the groovy drops with tons of grinding bass to really make the track pop. Over the past few months, TYR has really started to hone and develop his own unique sound of bass music. Maybe it has something to do with him moving to Colorado? Most definitely.

On the first day of Christmas, TYR gave to me, a DOPE f**king 4-track EP, Eclipse Vol. 2, jam-packed with four killer remixes adding up to 15-minutes of nonstop musical magic. This fantastic EP covers several artists including DVBBS, the EDM god Moby, Swizz Beatz & Bounty Killer, and last but not least, Die Antwoord. If you remember our premier of TYR’s last skillfully crafted 4-track Stimulate EP showcasing TYR’s smooth, bass-infused production expertise over some recent hits like Charlie Mars’ ‘How I Roll’ & Flume’s ‘Sleepless’, while covering some more classic hits like Jack Johnson & Handsome Boy Modeling School’s ‘Breakdown’ & Fleetwood Mac’s ‘The Chain’, then you’ll know what to expect on this masterpiece. Merry Christmas!

Grant Redmond, better known as quickly rising Las Vegas-based electronic producer TYR, contacted me over the weekend asking if we’d like it do a TSS exclusive premier of his newest remix project, Stimulate EP. This skillfully crafted 4-track remix EP showcases TYR’s smooth, bass-infused production expertise over some recent hits like Charlie Mars’ ‘How I Roll’ & Flume’s ‘Sleepless’, while covering some more classic hits like Jack Johnson & Handsome Boy Modeling School’s ‘Breakdown’ & Fleetwood Mac’s ‘The Chain’. All the way through from start to finish this EP is good vibes, so kick back, turn up your speakers, and enjoy!
All of these remixes have a lot of musical inspiration and influence behind them. I really tried to keep the great feel of each original tune while still making them bounce with heavy bass-lines and catchy melodies. The tune with Rodway came out of nowhere when he came up for a studio visit not too long ago. We are both really please with the turnout and it’s actually in a beatport competition as well (http://play.beatport.com/contests/flume-sleepless/506de751b8ed742fb6e8de2d), but we will still be giving it away for free! Hope you guys enjoy the remixes and check out the promo video! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TecUI0eDX7w&feature=plcp

Las Vegas dubstep artist TYR, who brought us his massive remix of ‘What Happens In Vegas’ last month for Chuckie’s remix competition is back again with another remix, this time taking on Big L’s classic track ‘MVP.’ Contrary to his previous bass-heavy dubstep remixes, TYR incorporates a groovy electronic vibe to bring this classic back to life in new light. I’ve heard rumors that a documentary is in the works titled Street Struck: The Big L Story, which is due to drop sometime this year, so watch out for that. In the mean time, kick back, turn up your speakers, and enjoy!

Whoa! Where has time gone? It’s been exactly one year since I started blowing out your speakers every Friday morning with dirty dubstep while your neighbors are trying to sleep off their hangovers. And you know what the best cure for hangovers is? Definitely not dirty dubstep.
I was contemplating throwing together a best-of playlist to celebrate the 1 year anniversary, but then I came to the actualization that all you bass-heads out there are probably caught up on the grim, so why not throw together a playlist of all new music? That’s exactly what I did. Here’s a brand new 16-track playlist of straight filth for you to bask in on this fine Friday afternoon.
I want to thank everyone for all their continued support as TSS continues to flourish, but you know the drill; put down your orange juice and turn up the volume because it’s about that time of week again for me to drop some filth on your day with Filthy Friday Vol. 52. The good filth DEFINITELY never stops coming in this anniversary installment, so go down the line, press play, and you’re bound to find a BUNCH of new tracks to add to your filth collection. Kick back, turn up your speakers, and CELEBRATE Filthy Friday Vol. 52!

I’m stoked to announce that TYR, the 17-year-old Las Vegas dubstep producer who brought us his incredibly disgusting remix of Skrillex’s new hit ‘Kyoto,’ his massive remix of Avicii’s all-to-remixed tune ‘Levels,’ and his collaboration remix of Kid Cudi’s track ‘Soundtrack 2 My Life’ with CR^NKN last week is releasing a new tune exclusively through TSS today to build up hype for his debut album Hard Times which is dropping this Wednesday. The original song titled ‘Married to Molly’ was written by New York hip hop artist Gabriel Stark and featured kick-back vibe until TYR got his hands on it. TYR keeps the mellow vibe flowing with Gabriel’s voice but follows up with his always-heavy dubstep drops in-between verses. Be sure to watch out for the album on Wednesday but until then, turn up your speakers & enjoy!
