Tiesto releases Shocker, Back To The Acid, Paradise all within 24 hours

OK…I’m going to get this out of the way right now and clarify my love/hate relationship with Tiesto. The guy has everything going for him. He is probably in the spotlight more than any other DJ or producer in the game and has more #1 singles than you can count. So in that respect, I must give it to Tiesto. You’ve got the game under your belt. However, I personally cringed at how horribly produced his remix of Zedd’s “Clarity” was. That is way to beautiful of a song to be chopped up by tacky trap wanna be break down’s especially when you combine it with the heavenly voice of Louisa Rose Allen, better known as Foxes. Now that I got that out of the way, I present to you another one of Tiesto’s amazing feats. I’m not sure if I could honestly put enough faith in any other producer to release three brand new tracks in only 24 short hours, not to mention the day before his new Club Life Vol. 3 – Stockholm is set to release. All released on Musical Freedom, These three tracks combine the efforts of Tiesto, DYRO, DJ Punish, and MOTI. Shocker is the massive electro house track that is the combined work of Tiesto and DJ Punish. Just like it’s name suggest’s, Shocker is charged up with pure energy! This is one insane power house song that is sure to become another smash hit. The charged up synths take you higher and higher until you reach full voltage and ignite! The second song, Back To The Acid, is Tiesto’s collab. with MOTI. In this tune, the two offer their take on acid house. A huge buildup in the beginning along with some catchy lyric’s leads into a huge eruption of acid house drops. Im not too familiar with acid house, but this is one catchy tune. The last song is a perfect production between Tieso and DYRO called Paradise and it is everything the name suggest’s and more. The deep sub bass enter’s your system as you emerse yourself in one of the most inspiring melodies you’ll ever hear. This is the classic Tiesto we all love. All three songs will be included in his new Club Life Vol 3. thats due out tomorrow. Until then, go support Tiesto and get these song’s off of Beatport!

I guess it’s Dubstep Tuesday because this is the third amazing dubstep track i’ve heard today, with this one being the best in my opinion, but that might just be my man crush on Clark Kent showing. Well…damn. Will Tiesto ever disappoint ever again? From his Get Loose remix to Take Me with Kyler England and now a Love Is The Answer remix, Tiesto is on a complete rampage of music producing greatness. The beautiful vocals in this song accompanied by Tiesto’s heart throbbing drop, combine for one of the most uplifting feelings I’ve ever felt in music. I crave to hear this song played at festivals. I can picture a sea of ravers jumping up and down screaming “I Believe” and enjoying the moment. Truly an amazing track. Now available on Beatport today.

3Bro Safari in College Station, Texas – Event Review + Interview

I had been looking forward to this show for a long time because Bro Safari is one of the producers that really got me in to Trap and Moombahton music. The crowd was absolutely electric, and very drunk. We had all just finished our final exams for the semester and we were ready to throw down; Evidently so was Bro Safari. His set was flawless, insane, ratchet, and a lot more cool adjectives that I can’t think of right now. He played all of his best remixes, originals, and everyone’s favorite Trap and Moombahton anthems. Nothing can describe my level of joy when he threw down his new remix of ‘Gal A Bubble’ that he worked on with Major Lazer and ETC!ETC!. If you haven’t heard it yet, then you’re doing it wrong. Music aside, this show was run MUCH better than the Crizzly and CRNKN show I attended last week at the same venue. Shoutout to IAM CollegeStation for flawlessly executing a sold-out show and for booking one of my favorite producers.

Before his set, I had the opportunity to sit down with Bro Safari and talk with him. It went like this:

TSS: Who is Bro Safari?

Bro Safari: “My name is Nick, I’ve been making electronic music since 1998, I started out making DnB, still making it with Evol Intent. I started Bro Safari around 2008 as a Dubstep project, made weird glitchy strange music, then put the project to rest for a while. I came back to it about 3 years ago when I heard Moombahton and that’s kinda where I am now.

TSS: How would you describe your music to a middle-aged soccer mom?

Bro Safari: I would probably say to listen to your average hip hop song, and tie in elements from all different kinds of electronic music. When i’m DJing i’m trying to make the crowd move, when i’m in the studio i’m just trying to make myself move.

TSS: How was it going solo after being with Evol Intent for so long?

Bro Safari: It was a weird transition. I shared all the duties with 2 other guys for so long, so when I started Bro Safari I had to do everything myself. I embraced it, at the time I was really motivated to just make something happen, and that motivation alone made the transition very easy. Whereas before the responsibility was split between the 3 of us, now it was all on me, but I like that kind of pressure. That’s how I get better at what I do.

TSS: Where is EDM going?

Bro Safari: It’s impossible to predict right now. The best stuff right now is just stuff that happened spontaneously. I think sometime in the next year someone is going to make a song that just blows everyone away and then everyone will just shift their focus and realize we don’t have to make the same song over and over. I mean one could argue that the electronic music “bubble” could burst and I don’t know what that would mean for the music itself, but I think whenever something gets so big and just implodes on itself that something good always comes out of that. I’ve been doing this for a long time now, 15 years, i’ve seen different scenes come and go but as long as the artists stay true to themselves it’ll be good.

TSS: Taco Bell or McDonalds?

Bro Safari: McDonalds

TSS: Would you rather fight 100 duck sized horses or one horse sized duck?

Bro Safari: 100 duck sized horses. You could just kick, they can’t get above your knees. And giant duck would have that sharp bill, that thing could fuck you up. Yeah i’d definitely want to fight 100 smaller creatures.

TSS: Fuck, Marry, Kill: Dillon Francis, Baauer, Tiesto

Bro Safari: Jesus Christ. I’m going to preface this by saying I don’t want to do any of these things to any of these guys. I’d probably fuck Dillon, because I don’t know, he seems like a fun guy. I’d probably kill Tiesto, i’m sorry Tiesto. I’d marry Baauer, because he’s just a super nice guy and we’d probably get along the best in the long term. I’m sorry Tiesto.

4Showtek & Noisecontrollers – Get Loose (Tiesto Remix)

April 22nd:

So this is gonna happen. Tiesto just changing the game once again. After Showtek and Noisecontrollers released their monstrous new single, Get Loose, last week we already have a HUGE remix coming in early May. Spinnin’ Records will release this on May 10 and judging by the preview below it’s going to be massive. Cue all the haters saying “Tiesto sucks, this remix is garbage!” blah blah blah, just shut up already. This remix is going to be sick and you know it.

5Tiesto ft. Kyler England – Take Me

April 26th:

Yes, I know this preview came out yesterday, but I slept on it for a legitimate reason. When I first played this I wasn’t a big fan of it and I couldn’t figure out why. I knew I would need to take a second listen but I waited until today to do so and you know what…this is amazing. I hate the fact that it’s only a preview because I need more! I can’t wait until May 14th I need this in my life now. Take Me is an uplifting tune with beautiful vocals by Kyler England. This song screams TomorrowWorld all over it which is probably why it accompanied the announcement that Tiesto will be playing TomorrowWorld this year. TURN IT UP! FESTIVAL BANGER ALERT! Jesus you think there was enough hands in on this one? Unreal. Absolutely amazing track. Dimitri Vegas, Like Mike, GTA and Wolfpack all combine for one hell of a collaboration that is about to completely rock your summer festivals. The beginning starts off basic but the build up gets more complex and then…drop! Crowd’s are gonna go nuts over this one! You’d be a fool to not head over to Beatport and grab it! 7Tiësto, Quintino & Alvaro – United (Ultra Music Festival Anthem)

I have one question and one question only…Who’s ready for Ultra 15!? I know I am! We have exactly 10 days until the greatest music festival in the world takes off for Weekend 1 of the 2 weekend extravaganza. TSS will be down there in full force during Weekend 2 so come find us and hangout. As far as this track goes its musical perfection. Simply put. You get three MAJOR producers that includes Tiesto, Quintino and Alvaro all pitching in to create the UMF Anthem for this year and it is simply amazing. I can’t wait any longer. After only having received four of the Clarity remixes last week, we figured we’d hold back to share them all with you today. There are some BIG hitters in this pack, including Tiesto, Felix Cartal, Torro-Torro, and many more!

Oh you thought I’d skip over Moombah Monday? Nope! Let’s start the remix pack off with Torro Torro. Everything these two touch turns into absolute gold. As far as I’m concerned they’re toward the top of the Moombah chain and this remix may have just launched them to #1. They added an overall exotic feel to the song and made the drop so energetic! I was jumping in my seat while writing this. No joke.

Zedd Ft. Foxes – Clarity (Torro Torro Remix)

So Brillz has been making major waves in the Trap game this past year and his most recent success can be heard below. Brillz and his jungle-like sounds of Trap tunes are greatly admired by his fans and followers and his version of Clarity doesn’t disappoint. Keeping the main vocals and tweaking the drop this version is slightly faster paced.

Following his brilliant performance on Letterman, it seemed only right that he include this beautiful arrangement of ‘Clarity’ featuring strings and piano over top of the delicate vocals from Foxes. This one just goes to show highlight Zedd’s training as a musician and disproves the haters out there who say DJs and producers have no musical talent.

Love Style Of Eye. He’s so different. He starts his remix of Clarity out with some funk but then it digs right into the beauty of the original. Then when the drop comes it’s just so perfect with the unique synths and chords. Definitely something to look out for this festival season.

Yeah I know everyone hated on Tiesto’s remix but why? I don’t get it? The guy took a different approach and everyone wanted his classical influence on it. Sorry, but when you’ve dominated the game as long as this God of House you gotta switch it up every now and then and that’s exactly what he did. If you don’t think people are gonna go ballistic over this at festivals this season then you’re dead wrong. Zedd even called it the “Tiesto Sh*t Your Pants Remix”

In the past I’ve heard a much more aggressive tone from Swanky Tunes, but in this remix the completely caught me off guard. They really tone down the build up, making it almost softer than the original, before bringing the levels up towards a wailing electro drop that’ll make you throw your hands in the air!

I’m not even the biggest Funkagenda fan and I’m loving this remix! The fact that it’s more than 7 minutes long is also a major turn on. Adding their own style in at the beginning they quickly follow with the beautiful lyrics being emphasized while a slight tune kicks in the background. Quickly this turns into a bass heavy jam accompanied by perfectly timed growls. Funkagenda absolutely killed this remix.

Damn it’s been more than a minute since I last heard a track from Nick Thayer, and it seems as if the guys been busy too! This rockin’ moombahton remix will keep the spirit of Moombah Mondays alive and the driving beat has a deadly swing to it that is certified to make you move!

Felix Cartal’s remix is definetley one to watch for. He starts out the track with the vocals, and builds up towards the drop before unleashing this giant electro monster that will RIP through your speakers at high speed. This remix had me rocking out HARD while checking it out and I guarantee you’ll dig it.

I haven’t really checked our much Roy Rosenfeld before, but it’d appear I’ve been missing out! This DEEP remix is unbelievably entrancing and you’ll get lost in the sounds and be swaying in no time!

After having dominated in Zedd’s overwhelming remix contest for ‘Spectrum’ last summer, Shreddie has been making great strides in his productions and man has it paid off. The best way to describe his sound, is intricate, light hearted electro. In this remix specifically, well placed breaks help to carry the remix, making it a fresh take on the track and well deserving of a spot on the official remix EP.

And finally, we have Headhunterz. Right off the bat, extremely fast paced, almost doesn’t even sound like it could be Clarity. Then we get the unforgettable lyrics that our forever engraved into our minds and we explore the full beauty of this remix. Headhunterz does a great job of making this coincide with his own style.
