That awkward moment when someone tells you Dubstep is dead when it really isn’t even close. Can anyone guess where you’ve heard this before? Anyone? No? Ok fine…this was premiered in Flux Pavilion’s Diplo & Friends mix about a month ago. I had absolutely no idea the ID of this track but now it makes so much sense. This is a vintage Doctor P sound packed with loads of wubs and bass. Absolute monster of a track. You can grab this one on June 24th off Circus Records and Big Beat Records!
Our friends from the UK are back again with this official dubstep remix of Your Addiction. Combining on point lyrics from Duelle with the dubstep style we know and love from Culture Code really takes this song to the next level. Voodoo Farm is a serious powerhouse when it comes to dope bass remixes and mashups. I’ve been following this guy for a while now (this mashup of The White Stripes and various rappers has been a staple of my driving playlists and DJ sets for a while now), and this new Macklemore remix is just the latest in a series of great tracks. Because of Ryan Lewis’ unique production style and Macklemore’s flow and emphasis on thoughtful lyrics, their music is often remixed very poorly. In fact, I would go as far as to say that I had never heard a remix of one of their tracks that I really enjoyed until I heard this one a little while ago. Earlier this week, Monstercat Records released Tristam’s Truth Remixes EP on BeatPort jam-packed full of six remixes including artists like Candyland, xKore & Anna Yvette. It’s no surprise that Santa Barbara’s Candyland DJ duo lead off this EP with their explosive dubstep remix full of heavenly melodies and sharp bass growls to tag along with the dreamy original lyrics.
PatrickReza is back with a huge dubstep remix of Destroid’s “Raise Your Fist” released on BeatPort for Destroid’s Raise Your Fist Remix Contest. PatrickReza recently has been producing some heavy tunes compared to his signature smooth-flowing lovestep tunes, and this is definitely no different with the speaker shattering bassline and monstrous power synths. The voting starts for this competition on June 25, so be sure to vote for our friend PatrickReza when you get the chance.
I get hit up on Twitter and Facebook constantly by people asking me, “Where’s the filth at??”. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Feature Cuts. A long time member of the TSS family, Feature Cuts bangs out filthy dubstep like nobody’s business, and he does it DAMN WELL. If you were to tell me that Lil Wayne’s ‘Rich as Fuck’ could be turned into a dubstep smash then I would call you a liar, but if you told me that Feature Cuts was doing it then I would 100% agree. Filthy dubstep is what got me into EDM in the first place, and it’s something that the world has been missing lately. Thanks to producers like Feature Cuts however, the bass is alive, well, and hitting hard as ever. French producer Sawgood is back with a massive dubstep remix made for fellow producer Ryeland from the UK. The song is called “Come Now” and this remix packs a punch with the juicy, explosive bassline and monstrous rolling dubstep-infused glitch hop drops.

In celebration of their forthcoming “Altered States” tour across the US & Canada alongside Paper Diamond, Green Lantern & Branchez, the powerhouse dubstep duo Zeds Dead has released a fresh dubstep original titled “By Your Side”. This tune is everything you would expect from Zeds Dead and more with their signature melancholy piano keys, wandering female lyrics and grinding dubstep bassline. This one will be a classic for days to come without a doubt as they continue to flawlessly fuse genres. Check out the tour dates on the Altered States website.

So Candyland just released a brand new original mix that has a lot of meaning behind it. They’re donating 100% of the proceeds of this track to the Boston One Fund which goes directly to the victims of the Marathon bombings just a month ago. Being from Boston, I can’t even begin to describe how much this means to me and my city. Every cent that goes to Marathon victims is truly a blessing and touches my heart. It’s amazing how music heals and how it can bring us together and help us through hard times. I really just want to thank Candyland for doing this, you guys are amazing. Not only is this track incredible and well produced, but it has great meaning behind it as well. So thank you guys for doing this for us and I will be sure to see you this Thursday.
